Relieve The Pain Of Ankylosing Spondylitis
There I was, aged 34, having had barely a day's unwellness in my entire lifetime, when I suddenly felt deep pains in my neck and lower back area. Merely a one-off, thought I, get some heat treatment cream and that will get rid of it. Wrong! So off I trundle and pay an infrequent visit to my doctor and he says I have Ankylosing Spondylitis. As he did not seem too concerned about it I did not think much of it, but it did turn out to be a life altering diagnosis.
Ankylosing Spondylitis, for those which do not know is one of the many forms of arthritis and could impact both males and females. I did not take it overly seriously as I was still able to go about my day-by-day business and I connected arthritis with being disabled and having deformed hands etc. It reveals how uninformed I was at that time in regards to rheumatic or arthritic ailments.
And so my doctor prescribes some tablets, which in all honesty were not much use and I go back to said physician and he prescribes some other tablets, again not very much use. This goes on for several years, some pills being better than others, but none of them really killing the pain. Then, after enduring various levels of pain for roughly fifteen years I eventually discovered something which is a better painkiller for my ailment than any drug.
Enter the Tens Machine.
These simple machines come in several models, but they all work by letting out slight electrical pulses of adjustable strength through pads arranged on the body which reduce the pain signals being beamed to the brain. These electrical pulses also step-up the output of the body's innate painkillers called endorphins.
The tens machine model I possess was fairly inexpensive to purchase, and is low-cost to run. The chief cost, being the replenishment of the pads as they only have a finite life. Okay, indeed it's not a remedy, but if it disguises the painful sensation and aids me slumber at nighttime, I'm happy. These simple machines, apparently, can offer respite for all forms of muscular and joint pain. I can't warrant that it will work for your specific complaint, but it is certainly worth a shot. I wish I had found Tens Machines years ago.
